October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time dedicated to honoring those who have fought and continue to fight against breast cancer. At Courtyard Rehabilitation and Health Center in El Dorado, Arkansas, we took this opportunity to celebrate the courage of survivors, remember loved ones, and stand in support of those currently facing this challenging journey.
Our day of tribute began with our staff and elders proudly wearing pink, a color that has come to symbolize strength and solidarity in the fight against breast cancer. Together, we held a moment of silence, sharing in a quiet time of reflection, remembrance, and hope, followed by a group prayer to honor those we know and love who have been affected by breast cancer.
Following this heartfelt moment, pink balloons were released into the crisp autumn air—each balloon a symbol of memory and celebration for those touched by breast cancer. The balloon release was not only a moving sight but also a reminder of the strength that lives within our community and the support we hold for each other.
Our team also added a touch of creativity with a custom banner reading “In October We Wear Pink.” Adorned with beautifully decorated pink pumpkins, the banner served as a cheerful reminder throughout the month that we stand together in this cause.
As we look back on this meaningful day, we are reminded of the resilience and unity of our Courtyard community. We are grateful to honor and support those impacted by breast cancer and extend our love and encouragement to them not only this October but always.
